What happens after a refund?
Tillgrove reverses the vendor earnings attached to the refunded items, including after the vendor has been paid.
For a supported Shopify item refund, Tillgrove uses the vendor and share recorded on the original sale. Changing today's agreement does not change yesterday's earnings.
- $100 item sale × 70% vendor share
- +$70.00
- Monthly fee
- −$10.00
- Payment made and recorded
- −$60.00
- Balance after payment
- $0.00
- Later $20 item refund × 70%
- −$14.00
- New vendor balance
- −$14.00
The next earnings cover the difference
The negative $14 carries forward. If the vendor next earns $50, the balance becomes $36 before any other fees, holds or payments. Tillgrove does not withdraw money from the vendor.
The old statement stays fixed
A statement issued before the refund still shows the balance at its original cutoff. The refund appears as later activity and is included in a later statement.
Some refunds need review
- A sale from before your Tillgrove start date: the opening balance alone cannot identify its vendor or original share.
- Missing or unclear ownership: confirm who owned the item when it sold.
- Unsupported exchanges or order edits: Tillgrove flags the order so you can review it before settling.
Open the item marked for review and follow the explanation shown. Keep the original order and payment records handy. Contact support if you cannot establish the original facts.
See month-end statements and payments for the normal payment process.
